Area is the size of the interior of a flat figure and is measured in square units.  Since a rhombus is a parallelogram, then the formula for the area of a parallelogram can be used to find the area of a rhombus; A = bh, where b is the length of the base and h is the height.   Remember the height is the perpendicular distance from one base to the other.


 Area of a rhombus = bh units2
