So far in this course we have looked at many topics with right triangles including the Pythagorean Theorem and its converse, congruency statements like the Hypotenuse-Leg Theorem and most recently similarity statements like the Angle-Angle Similarity Postulate.  Right triangles are useful in finding unknown measurements that are too large to measure by hand, and this unit will focus on using our knowledge of right triangles to find unknown measurements.  In this unit, students will explore relationships between the sides and angles of triangles and explore the trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, and tangent.  Students will use the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines to further develop their knowledge about triangles and use the sine function to find the area of a triangle.

This unit should take approximately 3 - 4 weeks.
