HOW TO:  Add a Choice activity to your site

Choice activities are a great way to pre-assess for prior knowledge, format single question surveys, or schedule students for projects.  

  1. Go to your course site;
  2. Turn editing on;
  3. Select a topic module to work in;
  4. Open the "add an activity" drop down menu;
  5. Click "Choice";
  6. Enter a name for the activity; 
  7. In the "choice text" field, author the question you want the students to answer;
  8. Decide if you want to limit how many times a particular choice can be selected.  (This can be useful if you are using the choice activity to have students pick research topics that you want evenly distributed);
  9. List the possible answers in the choice fields.  If you are limiting responses, indicate how many people are allowed to make that selection;
  10. Determine if you want to limit the time period and display options;
  11. Click "save and return to course".
